Ok After the in process blog post I sanded down the bumps and rough spots. Then I painted my whole piece. I made some changes earlier to the leafs by bending them and shaping them.
I feel like the color is very good in the piece just like spongebob's home. If I were to do it again I would have scored and slipped better because I had some cracking on the inside.

I plan to paint the piece in acrylic paint in the color of spongebob's home. I want to put in the details for the pineapple. I want to make this piece a change jar.
The most difficult part was getting the shape, and gettin the leafs to stay and hold up. I find that the shape and the structure of the piece is good. I started out making the pinch pot and then coiling up to make the shape. In between each coil I scored and slip. After I got the shape I put and small cylinder on top of the shape and scored and slipped the leafs onto the cylinder. I learned from this how to make different shades of many colors. You make brown by mixing two colors that are on the opposite sides of the color wheel. My favorite is mixing Orange and blue.
My painting is a painting of the Grand Teton National Mountains. These mountains are in Wyoming.
The sky, because I had to start with a all lite blue then go to dark. The mountains are the most successful part I started with the sky. Then to the mountains. then the grass. Then the trees, then the road, then the fence. |
